The No Fault Divorce Bill was expected to have its second reading debate on 11 March 2016 in the House of Commons. However the motion was not moved and there are no available days fixed for the second reading of Private Members’ Bills before the end of the current parliamentary session. Richard Bacon MP has nominated Friday 22 April for the Second Reading debate on the Bill. The House is not expected to sit on this date.
Private Members’ Bills take priority over government business on thirteen Fridays in each parliamentary session. The last sitting for the consideration of Private Members’ Bills for the 2015-16 session was 11 March 2016.
The next session will commence on 18 May 2016.
