Caroline Ford – Partner Mediator & Collaborative Lawyer – Family Law
Caroline is the Partner in the family department. She has worked in in the area of family law since 2001 and was admitted as a solicitor in 2003. Caroline specialises in divorce and the financial aspect of relationship breakdown as a result of divorce or separation as well financial provision for children (Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989). Often her matters involve jurisdictional issues.
Caroline drafts consent orders following parties reaching agreement on financial issues at mediation or following negotiations and advises on and drafts prenuptial agreements, post nuptial agreements, separation agreements, and cohabitation agreements (also known as living together agreements).
She also represents parents who cannot agree on the time they spend with their children and parents who wish to relocate with their children to another country. Caroline has also represented grandparents in matters concerning children.
Caroline strives to negotiate settlements in a cost effective way for her clients. She offers practical and realistic advice.
Caroline appreciates that the breakdown of a relationship is a very difficult period and emotions can run high, especially when there are children concerned and/or the parties are in dispute over the finances. She deals with such matters with a high degree of sensitivity.
